I will be demonstrating transfer printing on soft slabs of clay using paper mono-print and coloured slips, then we will transform our printed slabs into small platters and vases.

Slow wheel throwing – using soft clay and a slow speed, let the sensual nature of throwing express itself in your work. In this workshop we will enjoy the haphazard, the irregular and the fluid nature of clay.

You will be using a Leach treadle wheel and exploring a range of simple forms that allow room for experimentation. Some wheel throwing skills are essential. Bring your own throwing tools.

On Saturday, David Kenny and I are doing a Naked Raku firing. David will be in charge of the kiln and I will be making 80 items so that everyone can try the process out. We will all be making tea light candle holders, which we plan to use in the closing ceremony and then you can take them home.

Recipes and the opportunity to be hands on and try it out, provided on the day.
